For most variable
power scopes, the size and spacing of the dot changes at the same ratio as the scope power; three-to-one (3x - 9x) or four-to-one
(6x-24x). Whatever the dot size or dot spacing is on high power, the dot size and spacing will be 3 or 4 times that
big on low power. Suggested sizes and the effect of power changes are:

If you have trouble picturing what size dot would look right in your scope, make a black circle of the suggested
size on a white paper and look at it with your scope from 100 yards away.
The LEE DOT can
be made in any size you wish (within reason), but best results can be had by using the above sizes. This is based
on many thousands of users over a long period of years. However, since each reticle is custom made, you should get what
fits your needs. Old or weak eyes can benefit from a larger LEE DOT that is much easier to see than crosshairs. Someone
that hunts in the thickets should use a larger dot than someone who hunts the plains. Hunters should get bigger dots
than target shooters.
