REFERENCES "The dot makes an excellent reticle and in various sizes is suitable for almost
any purpose. One great advantage of the single dot reticle is its speed. There is nothing else in the field to
distract the attention. All one has to do is put the dot in the right place and squeeze off. Probably the best
big-game shooting I've ever done was with an old .270 equipped with a 2½X Lyman Alaskan scope with a four-minute LEE DOT."
(Jack O'Connor. The Complete Book Of Rifles And Shotguns. Outdoor Life, 1961.)
"The
more natural and automatic aiming can be made, the better. It therefore follows that the simplest aiming point is the
most suitable for the majority of shots. After over three decades of squinting into scopes filled with all types
of reticles, I've concluded that the simplest is the center dot. ... T. K. LEE probably knew more about dots than anyone
else." (Bob Bell. "Some Insights Into Scope Reticles". The American Rifleman. April 73.)

"The majority of firers preferred a dot reticle. These ranged
from 1 minute which was most popular to dots of ½ to 3/4 minutes." (Col. Charles Askins. "What's New in Silhouette Gear."
The American Rifleman. September 79.)
“This specialized reticle (3
LEE DOTS) is a very efficient and surprisingly affordable system that has proven to be an invaluable aid for long range
shooting” (Steve Hugel, “Little Noslers for Long-range Coyotes.” The Trapper and Predator Caller.
January 1996.)
“These black dot reticules replace ordinary scope reticules. They
are a low-tech, inexpensive, and almost foolproof way to convert an ordinary good-quality varmint scope into one that is custom
designed for its owner’s long -range shooting specifications and needs. The Lee Dot may be one of the last
real shooting bargains.” (Tom Badam “Shooters Rest” Varmint Masters Magazine Vol 8, 1997.)
“When you want on-target accuracy combined with quick aiming, consider something other than a traditional
set of crosshairs. A dot reticle has more to offer than most shooters imagine - a single eye-catching aiming reference
that is infinitely quicker to use than any sort of post or crosshairs. Unless that scope( with 6" LEE DOT) breaks,
it is never coming off. This is one of the most useful, most workable combinations I have ever used and an absolute
delight to shoot.” (Stan Warren, “Rethinking Reticles”. Cabela’s Sportmans’s Quest
July/August 1999.)
"All of my dot reticles come from T. K. Lee Co." Interview with
Wally Siebert, Gun Digest Book of Scopes and Mounts by Bob Bell (1983): "Still True" Wally Siebert (August, 2000)(May

"When I got my Weaver V-24 back from Michael at T. K. Lee Co.,
I did not waste any time in mounting it on my tactical 20 and later switched the barrel to 17 Tactical. The scope was very
clear with sharp dots. Once a reading was made on the Leica range finder, I could check my little drop chart and then decide
which dot to use. I quickly learned where to hold each dot and sometimes split the distance between two dots. It will not
take you long to get on to it. The windage dots help to make follow up shots easier as well. This system of vertical and horizontal
dots and a good quality range finder can take the guesswork out of your hold for precision long range shooting. (Todd A. Kindler,
"Lets Talk About Long Range Varmint Scopes for Rifles & Handguns". Small Caliber News Magazine, Spring Edition
2003.)
The LEE DOT was original factory installation in Leupold®, Redfield® and
Lyman® scopes. Now offered in both Parson Optical and Mitchell Optical target scopes.
